Rose Bowl Water Polo Club Featured on USAWP's YouTube Channel
Pasadena CA—Rose Bowl Aquatics Center's Water Polo Club has been profiled by Greg Mescall, Associate Director of Communications for USA Water Polo. In April 2009, Rose Bowl Water Polo Club was the recipient of USAWP's Club of the Month. In 2010 Head Coach Daniel Leyson was named USAWP's Distinguished Boys Coach.
"We have a great group of coaches that are very dedicated...we are out here every night...our coaches are very passionate about our sport,” said Head Coach Daniel Leyson.
The goal of the program is for every team member to achieve their highest potential in the sport of water polo. The Club participates in major national and regional competitions, including the USA Water Polo Junior Olympics. Rose Bowl Water Polo is open to all interested players.

Girls 8th Grade & Under Make RBWPC History
NOVEMBER 4, 2011 (UPDATE NOVEMBER 16, 2011)
The Girls 8th Grade and Under Team will compete in the 2011 USA Water Polo Turbo Champions Cup in Bloomington, Indiana November 5 - 7. This is the first time in the history of the RBWPC that a girls team has qualified to travel outside of California to compete in this prestigious Championship.
The team achieved this opportunity by successfully competing in the regional qualifier held in Commerce, CA on October 8 - 9.
At the National Championships in Bloomington, the team is guaranteed to play at least five games. Games will be held at the Counsilman-Billingsley Aquatics Center at Indiana University against tops teams from all over the United States, including Florida, Pennsylvania, Illinois, California and Texas.
"We look forward to representing Rose Bowl Water Polo, as well as the entire San Gabriel Valley at this National Championship," stated Adam Roth, Head Coach, Girls Water Polo. "Only the top teams from every zone qualify for this Championship and for our team to qualify so early in the season shows great potential. We will be competing against the best-of-the-best."
Head Coach, Dan Leyson, added "I am excited for our girls to have the opportunity to experience this trip. It is a lot of fun. I wish I could be there with them."

2010-2011 USA Water Polo Academic All-Americans Announced

Rose Bowl Water Polo is proud to announce that eleven members of our Club have been recognized as 2010-2011 USA Water Polo Academic All-Americans. We are one of only 16 clubs in the Nation who had more than 10 members. Jordan Card*, Zachary Card, Evan Chang, Kristin Charlton*, Emma Dodd*, Sean Fisher, Kelly McGee*, Graham Nesbit*, Alexander Swain*, Kyle Van Der Linde, and Colin Woolway* have been recognized for their excellence in the classroom as well as the pool.
Student-athletes had to have participated in a USA Water Polo National Championship to be eligible. In addition each student-athlete had to have at least a 3.6 GPA average with outstanding achievement going to those with a 4.0.
* denotes outstanding achievement
Note: Jordan Card, Evan Chang, Emma Dodd, and Colin Wooway are recipients for two consecutive years. Graham Nesbit was a participant all three years he was eligible.

The Rose Bowl Aquatics Center Water Polo Club (RBWPC) is pleased to announce, Pasadena area residents Lindsey Kelleher and Chancellor Ramirez have been selected to represent the United States this summer in international water polo action. Lindsey will compete in the Pan American UANA Youth Championships this August 4-13 in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Chancellor is bound for the XI Memorial Giugno 2000 Water Polo Tournament (U17) August 3-14 in Acireale, Italy competing against the national teams of Montenegro, Greece, Italy, Serbia, Spain and France.
Seven RBWPC members (of the twenty selected for the Southern California Regional Championships) were selected to train this summer with their respective Youth National Training Team. Players selected were: Lindsey Kelleher, Georgia Bogle, Allison Woo, Chancellor Ramirez, Spencer Rogers, Jesse Camou, and Sean Thomas.
Lindsey is now a member of the Women's USA Water Polo Cadet National Team. She is a 4 year member of the RBAC Girls Water Polo team, coached by Adam Roth. "It's an honor to be part of the National Team and I'm excited about representing Rose Bowl Water Polo and the USA. I think it will be fun." Lindsey will be a freshman at Pasadena Polytechnic School in the fall.
Girls water polo coach, Adam Roth, has this to say about Lindsay; "We are very proud to have Lindsey representing us on the national team this summer. Her tremendous work ethic and relentlessly optimistic attitude have give her the strength and determination to earn this amazing opportunity. I am confident that Lindsey's experience with the national team will not only give her an amazing experience this summer, but will positively impact our program for years to come. Congratulations Lindsey. We will be rooting for you!"
Chancellor Ramirez is in his 5th year as a member of the Men's USA Youth Water Polo National Team, he has been playing water polo at Pasadena's Rose Bowl Aquatics Center for seven years, six of them under Head Coach Daniel Leyson. "I'm really lucky to have a world class facility, highly dedicated coaching staff and excellent teammates. Players travel great distances to train with RBWPC and I am fortunate to live very close to the Center." Chancellor will enter his Junior year at Loyola High School as a two year Varsity Letterman and two-time C.I.F. Division I Semi-finalist. "Training with Rose Bowl Water Polo Club has helped me to play against the best players in California and the world." said Chancellor.
Head Coach Daniel Leyson has this to say about Chancellor Ramirez; "I am extremely proud of Chancellor's success. It has come not just as a result of his athleticism, but also because he has placed the sport of water polo at the forefront of his priorities. He has sacrificed so much in order to excel, and he has worked extremely hard to get where he is. He provides an excellent example for all athletes in our program."

Scholarships are available -- please review RBAC Scholarship requirements and apply directly at the front desk. Players who qualify for the Rose Bowl Aquatics Center’s scholarship will also receive a scholarship from the Rose Bowl Water Polo Club for the player's club and tournament fees only.
